Many people might be surprised to learn that the comedian and actor Russell Brand is also very political and a fierce critic of the current political system which, as he argues, reinforces inequality and exploitation and fails to address the pressing issues of humanity such as climate change. Brand has guest edited an issue of the New Statesman and engaged in a conversation with the BBC’s Jeremy Paxman about the problems addressed in the magazine.
